The first time we came across these waving cats was in the lobby of a small hotel in Varanasi two years ago. As kitschy as one may find them, they are a traditional and respected Japanese lucky charm. And I fell in love at first sight. So now three of them are trying dutifully, monotonously and patiently to wave happiness and wealth in their new home ... hopefully before getting their owners a mental breakdown due to the clapping of the waving cats’arms ...
